Each Mouse location (typically a school or other youth-serving organization) receives a unique Educator Code by email when they join or renew Mouse membership. For the protection of our students, adults will not be able to join Mouse Create without a valid Educator Code. This code upgrades your user and gives you special access to create a group for your students to join and to manage their work. Do NOT give the Educator Code to youth, but you should share the code with other adult educators at your location so they can lead projects with their students on Mouse Create.
If you are a Mouse member site, but have not received your site’s Educator Code, please email help@mouse.org with your name, and the name of your school or organization and we will get back to you ASAP.
Creating an account: standard registration vs. joining with Google
Mouse Create allows educators and students to authenticate and link a Google Account (examples: Gmail and Google Suite for Education) to their Mouse Create account. When you choose to register using your Google account, each time you go to Mouse Create, you will be able to quickly login by verifying your Google account. You will not need to remember a separate username and password just for Mouse Create.
If you do not have a Google account, you can still register normally by choosing a username and password for Mouse Create.
“Join with Google” - How to register Educator accounts using Google Single Sign On
You will be prompted to select and log into a Google Account of your choice. If you have more than one Google Account, make sure you choose the account you want to use to login to Mouse Create in the future.
After authenticating your Google account, you will return to Mouse Create to complete the account creation process.
“What kind of account do you want to make?": Educator
“Do you have an Educator code?": Yes
Fill out the form.
Choose a username: this is the display name that will be shown when you submit work and post comments.
After logging in, you must validate your account to get educator privileges by entering your site’s Educator Code. You only need to do this once. If you do not have your Educator Code, email help@mouse.org.
You can now create or join a Group for students.

Troubleshooting Registration Issues
If you or your students are having trouble registering an account using the “Join with Google” option:
Make sure you have selected the correct Google account when prompted.
If you attempt to login to your Google account and the password is incorrect, you will need to reset your Google account’s password through Google’s services. Mouse can not help you access your Google account.
If you successfully logged into your Google account, and could not complete your Mouse account registration, check the information below first, then reach out to help@mouse.org with a detailed description of the issue including: What version of your browser are you using? What operating system are you using? At what point in the process are you receiving an error? Do any error messages appear? Share a screenshot of the problem if possible.
If you or your students are having difficulty registering your accounts or if the Register button doesn’t seem to work. Please go through these steps before reaching out to Mouse for support:
Confirm that each field in the registration form has been completed correctly, and that there are no error messages.
Confirm that the Terms of Service checkbox “Please mark that you have read and agree to the terms here" has been checked.
Confirm that the “I am not a robot" Captcha is checked. Note: some users will be asked to complete an image quiz to confirm that they are not a spam-bot. This quiz can sometimes be difficult to complete. If it fails the first time, you will get a new quiz if you try again.
If there are no missing fields, the “I am not a robot" box has a green checkmark, and the registration form is still not submitting:
Try using a different internet browser. Mouse Create works best in Google Chrome. Mouse Create does not support older versions of Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Check that you are running the most updated version of your browser. If not, please upgrade.
Run any pending updates for your Operating System.
Check that you are connected to the internet correctly.
If you still can not create accounts, contact help@mouse.org. Please share these details about your circumstances: What version of your browser are you using? What operating system are you using? At what point in the process are you receiving an error? Do any error messages appear? Share a screenshot of the problem if possible.

You will then be sent back to Mouse Create to your Group page.

How to change your own Mouse Create Password (for non-Google users)
These instructions are for users with a standard Mouse Create account where you use a Mouse Create username and password to log in and do not log in using a Google account.
If you know your current password you can change your Mouse Create password by following the steps below. If you do not know your current password follow the instructions in the "How to Reset a Lost Password" section below.
Click on the "Profile" link at the top of the page to go to your own profile page.
Click the "Edit Account Settings" link in the top right corner of your profile page.
Type a new password in both the "Password" field and the "Confirm Password field". Note: You can also edit your username, email address, profile image, or bio here.
At the bottom of the page click the "Update Profile" button.
How to Reset a Lost Password or Username
Note: If you use a Google account to log into Mouse Create and can not remember your Google password, you will need to reset it through Google. Mouse Create does not store or manage your Google password.
If you do not remember your password and you made your account with a valid email address you can change your password by following the steps below:
Type the email address you used to create your account in the form below "Request Password Reset" and click the "Request Reset" button.
You should receive an email shortly after with a link to reset your Mouse Create password. If you do not receive the email you may want to check your spam filter. The email should come from "help@mouse.org" within 1-5 minutes.
Click the "Reset your Password" button in the email.
On the "Password Reset" form, type your email address again and your new password twice. Then click the "Reset Your Password" button.
If you did not provide an email address when you made your Mouse Create account, students can ask any educator in their group to reset their password, or students and educators can email help@mouse.org.
Any Group Manager in the same group as a student can reset that student's password. To reset a student's password follow the steps below:
Go to the Group Page of the group the student is in.
Select the “Members” tab within the Group page.
Find the student in the list of Active Group Members and click "Edit Account" in the "Actions" column.
Type the student's new password in both the "Password" field and the "Confirm Password field". Note: You can also edit the student's username, email address, badge status, profile image, or bio if necessary.
At the bottom of the page click the "Update Profile" button.
If the student wants to change their password again to something only they know, they can do this from their own profile page after logging in with the password you gave them.
